Mary Hardin Baylor

Chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1845, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning offering continuous education in the state. UMHB is a Christ-centered, coeducational school affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The University seeks the development of the whole person by providing opportunities to expand a student’s horizons intellectually, physically, and spiritually. All students are required to attend chapel programs for half the semesters they attend UMHB and to take two courses in religion. These are normally survey courses on the Old Testament and the New Testament.
