Professor in Chemistry
Brief Position Description:
The Department of Chemistry at Union University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Chemistry, beginning fall 2026. The ideal candidate would have a background in Inorganic Chemistry.
Teaching load is 24 credit hours and will include both lecture and laboratory sections. Successful candidate will be prepared to teach introductory chemistry and inorganic chemistry (lectures and labs) as well as organic chemistry (labs) and advanced topics in chemistry. Ability to teach analytical chemistry a plus. Previous teaching experience (especially at the college level) a plus. Course offerings, including in particular our variable-by-design “Advanced Topics in Chemistry” course, may be developed and refined in line with the successful candidate’s preparation and scholarly interests. Union faculty members produce scholarship and participate in advising and departmental/university service. Rank assignment commensurate with education/experience.
