Founding Program Director, Master of Architecture, Department of Human Sciences and Design

Brief Position Description:  Baylor University seeks a visionary architect-educator to serve as the Founding Program Director for its new Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program within the Department of Human Sciences & Design (HSD), part of the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences.

The Program Director will lead the launch, continual development, and accreditation of an innovative, hybrid professional master’s program that integrates design excellence with a commitment to human flourishing, wellbeing, and quality of life, reflecting Baylor’s faith-integrated approach to education. Building on the strength of Baylor’s CIDA-accredited undergraduate Interior Design program, the M.Arch expands the University’s leadership in built environment education—advancing a model of collaborative design practice that bridges creativity and technology, theory and practice, and design excellence with evidence-based inquiry. This search seeks candidates who are program builders and creative academic leaders; innovative and collaborative educators eager to shape the future of design education.

This is a full-time, 12-month clinical-track faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor, depending on experience. The position offers a rare opportunity to establish a nationally distinctive program and to contribute to shaping the next chapter of design education at Baylor, leading as one of a handful of architecture programs at faith-based R1 institutions.
