Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Counseling

Position Overview:
Charleston Southern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Counseling. This is an in-person position based in Charleston, SC that would start August 1st, 2025.

Ideal candidates have a passion for teaching future counselors and can relate their clinical experience to students. Applicants will teach in the master’s program as well as in the new PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision program, slated to launch in Fall 2026. The position could involve leadership opportunities in the PhD program, but newer faculty will also be considered. Experience teaching doctoral counseling students and the ability to teach research classes is highly desired.

We seek applicants with a background in clinical counseling. They must have a deep desire to integrate the Christian faith into counseling curriculum and teach doctoral students to do the same. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and explore with students the integration of faith and learning. Rank is commensurate with experience.
